Aiko Solar, founded in 2009 and based in China, is a reputable solar panel manufacturer. The company is known for its cutting-edge photovoltaic (PV) technologies, especially the development of N-type cell technology. In addition to solar panels, Aiko is a leading producer of solar wafers made of high-purity silicon material.
With the aim of consolidating its presence in Europe, Aiko Solar established the Solarlab Aiko Europe research institute in Freiburg, Germany, in August 2020. In 2021, the company focused its attention on All Back Contact (ABC) technology and began producing and shipping solar modules incorporating this innovative technology. The ABC structure optimizes energy capture by removing the metal grid lines that obstruct sunlight and placing them on the opposite side of the panels. This technology also includes anti-reflective coatings on the front and rear surfaces, improving electricity generation.
In 2023, Aiko Solar introduced its first proprietary solar modules. These world-class modules prioritize efficiency, reliability and durability. The company’s ABC Black Hole series received the prestigious Red Dot 2023 Product Design Award, demonstrating its commitment to innovation.
Aiko Solar specializes in the research, development, manufacture, sale and distribution of Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact (PERC) cells in Europe, Japan, South Korea and India. PERC solar cells are modified versions of traditional cells that generate power from both the front and rear surfaces, making them more efficient than conventional cells.
In April 2023, Aiko Solar signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Austrian energy company Burgenland Energi to achieve carbon neutrality in the state of Burgenland, Austria, by 2030. The collaboration aims to establish a joint innovation center for research and technology development, focusing on microgrids, energy networks and carbon neutrality.
Aiko Solar offers a variety of solar photovoltaic panels, including ABC and PERC panels. In addition, the company supplies products related to solar systems, such as storage batteries, inverters and mounting rails.
