Sungrow’s range of hybrid inverters is compatible with both single-phase and three-phase systems—even when the existing inverter is from a different manufacturer. Various configurations are designed to suit everything from small homes to more complex residential projects.

Single-Phase Retrofit

This option is designed for single-phase residential installations looking to add storage without replacing their current inverter.

Three-Phase Retrofit

Designed for higher-power projects such as large homes or semi-industrial installations, this solution offers greater capacity while maintaining the simplicity of a retrofit setup.

• Hybrid power: up to 10 kW
• Storage per system: up to 25.6 kWh
• Compatible with Sungrow inverters (SGCX/SGRT) or third-party inverters, with up to 300 kW of total installed power
• Monitoring and control via CTs and WiNet-S

Advanced Options for Integrators and EPCs

Three-Phase Parallel Mode

For installations requiring higher power output or increased storage capacity, it is possible to operate two SHxxRT-20 hybrid inverters in parallel. This setup allows up to 20 kW of power and 51.2 kWh of storage, distributed across two battery towers. A master-slave configuration must be defined, and each inverter requires individual monitoring.

Important: This configuration cannot be combined with grid-tied inverters.

AC Coupling

This solution is ideal for projects where the existing PV field should remain untouched. The hybrid inverter connects on the AC side and manages battery charging based on available surplus, without the need to add new PV modules. It is compatible with both Sungrow and third-party inverters.

Aerothermal + Retrofit

Sungrow systems can be integrated with heat pumps using SG Ready. This enables automatic activation or deactivation of the aerothermal system based on solar availability or battery charge level, optimizing self-consumption and reducing grid electricity usage.

EV Charging + Retrofit

The Sungrow range also supports the integration of AC chargers—7.4 kW for single-phase and 11 kW for three-phase setups—connected directly to the installation. Charging energy can come from PV surplus, the battery, or the grid, allowing for efficient and customized energy management.
