Description

Sungrow SH8/10RL Single-Phase Hybrid Inverter – 8 and 10 kW

The Sungrow SH8/10RL range consists of single-phase hybrid inverters for photovoltaic installations with energy storage and backup power. It includes the 8 kW SH8RL and 10 kW SH10RL models, with three independent MPPT trackers, a maximum input current of 20 A per MPPT and a low-voltage battery connection.
The backup output provides a transfer time of ≤4 ms under typical conditions and peak power of up to twice the rated output for 10 seconds. It includes AFCI protection, PID Zero functionality and monitoring through iSolarCloud, with load management and energy integration options through iHomeManager.
Energy storage with the Sungrow SBL060 battery
This range works with the compatible Sungrow SBL060 battery, sold separately. Each battery provides 6.0 kWh of nominal energy and 5.8 kWh of usable energy. The system supports up to four batteries in parallel per inverter.
Available power depends on the number of batteries and their performance. A single SBL060 cannot deliver the inverter’s maximum battery discharge power of 8 or 10 kW; storage must be sized according to the required power and runtime.

Recommended PV input power and maximum usable PV input power are separate parameters in the manufacturer’s datasheet. Rated AC output power is 8 or 10 kW. Charging, discharging and backup performance also depend on the batteries and system conditions. Peak power is not continuous power.
PV input and MPPT trackers
  • Maximum PV input voltage: 500 V DC.
  • Minimum PV input voltage: 40 V DC.
  • Startup voltage: 50 V DC.
  • Rated PV input voltage: 360 V DC.
  • MPPT operating voltage range: 40–425 V DC.
  • Independent MPPT trackers: 3.
  • Strings per MPPT: 1 / 1 / 1.
  • Maximum PV input current: 60 A total, 20 A per MPPT.
  • Maximum DC short-circuit current: 75 A total, 25 A per MPPT.
  • Maximum input connector current: 25 A.
Refer to the manual for the full-load MPPT voltage range. The connector current rating does not replace the operating limit of 20 A per MPPT.
Compatible battery and expansion
  • Battery paired with this range: Sungrow SBL060, sold separately.
  • Inverter battery voltage range: 40–60 V DC.
  • Up to four SBL060 batteries in parallel per inverter.
  • Nominal energy with four batteries: 24.0 kWh.
  • Usable energy with four batteries: 23.2 kWh.
  • Support for configuring up to two inverters in parallel, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Each SBL060 has a recommended charging power of 3.0 kW and discharging power of 2.9 kW. To make use of the inverter’s capabilities, the number of batteries must be sized appropriately and the complete system checked against Sungrow’s instructions. The 40–60 V voltage range does not imply compatibility with any low-voltage battery.
Grid connection and AC output
  • Single-phase connection.
  • Rated AC voltage: 220 / 230 / 240 V.
  • AC voltage range: 154–276 V.

  • Maximum output power for backup loads with the grid available: 13,860 W.
  • Maximum output current for backup loads with the grid available: 63 A.
Backup system sizing
The specified 13,860 W with the grid available does not mean the same power is available during an outage. Without the grid, each model’s backup ratings and the battery system limits must be respected. Actual power and runtime depend on the number of batteries, their state of charge, PV generation and connected loads. Whole-home backup requires an appropriate electrical design.
